Welcome to the Joint Programmes Board (JPB)
The JPB has reformed the education system for pharmacy practitioners. It is a collaborative, between the NHS pharmacy services and the local Schools of Pharmacy, which ensures that the training of pharmacists meets the modern requirements of the NHS to be “fit for practice” in order to provide consistently high quality patient care.
Our Mission Statement
Our job is to improve the quality of patient care by ensuring the supply of pharmacists who are educated, trained and motivated to play their part in a first class modern health service.
We aim to do this in a way that is responsive to the Government's national objectives for health and social care, the local context in which these pharmacists work, and the changing needs and expectations of the patients they serve.
Post Graduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice
The JPB currently manages a single postgraduate programme as a collaborative between the NHS and several Higher Education Institutions.
For more information please see our Diploma programme webpages and our collaborative partners information.
Advanced Pharmacy Practice (APP) Programme
We are working with specialists and advanced practitioners and JPB partners to inform the development of a programme to support advanced pharmacy practice, underpinned by the ACLF, utilizing the experience gained in the workplace with the knowledge required to practice at advanced and consultant levels.
See our Advanced Pharmacy Practice Programme pages for more information.
